The Recreational Program is designed for girls who do not want to pursue a competitive sport. Recreational program includes instruction in the basic technique of graceful movement, body conditioning, and apparatus handling. It is a fun and exciting way to participate in a beautiful sport, while also enhancing your concentration, memory and creativity. The girls in the recreation program are included in all club activities except competitions.
The Beginners program geared towards girls ages 3 to 4 who are just beginning to learn the basics of gymnastics. The training includes stretching, jumping, body movement and apparatus handling. The girls in this program usually practice 1-2 hours a week, and are included in all club activities except competitions.
The Pre-team program are based on USAG Rhythmic levels 1 and 2 for girls 5-6 years old. The training is focused on correct body movement, apparatus handling and learning basic elements. Girls in the beginners program practice 3 hours a week and are included in all club activities except competitions.
Levels 3 and 4
This is a beginning competitive program based on USAG Rhythmic levels 3 and 4 for girls 6-8 years old. This program is for gymnasts who have advanced from beginner levels and are interested in competing. At this stage of training, a certain dedication is required from both the gymnasts and the parents. This program is more time consuming, and gymnasts will practice about 5-6 hours a week, and take additional ballet classes. The training includes refining basic skills, perfecting apparatus handling, and learning routines for competitions. Girls at these levels will compete at invitational, state, and regional competitions.
Levels 5 and 6
This program is for girls age 7-10, who successfully competed in level 3 and 4, and moved to the next level based on their skills level. It is a more intense program in which gymnasts practice at least 3 times/ 9 hours per week and take additional ballet class. It is a more serious program that requires a lot of dedication. The program is intended for girls who are ready to compete at Nationals and Junior Olympics. At these levels, gymnasts learn more advanced skills in body elements and apparatus handling.
Levels 7 through 10
This advanced program is for athletes 11 years of age and up, and is based on FIG Rhythmic training. It is a competitive program for experienced athletes only. These athletes must dedicate many hours of training (15 or more per week) to perfect advance skills in all aspects of rhythmic gymnastics. At this level, athletes prepare for competitions, training several times a week, and travel to various competitions locally and out of state. It is an honor to advance to upper levels and requires complete dedication from athletes, but the results are definitely worth it.
